Several protesters were injured, one of them critically, during clashes with government forces at Balhama Panthahowk area of Srinagar city on Saturday, reports said.
Reports said that a youth was hit by teargas shell in his abdomen after forces resorted to heavy teargas shelling and aerial firing to disperse the protesters. The injured identified as Farman Ahmad S/o Ali Mohammad, R/o Balhama was shifted to Sub District hospital Pampore, the reports said. Clashes were going in the area when reports last came in. Pertinently, a fierce gun battle between militants and forces took place in Balhama two days back resulting in the killing of three militants.
Two of the militant bodies were recovered yesterday while as today body of a third militant was recovered by the search party during the sanitization process of the encounter site. Soon after the recovery, clashes had erupted in the area.
